Any letters of references deposited in your file prior to January 1, 1975 are confidential and you do not have access to them. You may have access to letters of reference deposited in your file between January 1, 1975 and March 1, 1980 in accordance with the Family Rights and Privacy Act. During this period, Haverford College did not offer its students or alumnae/i the option of waiving their rights of access and therefore maintaining confidentiality.
As of March 1, 1980, you have the option of maintaining your right of access to your letters of reference or waiving your rights. If you waive your rights, your letters are confidential and you will not have access to them. You may indicate your choice on the form provided for reference writers.
Please open a credential file for me. At my written request, you may mail my credentials to employers or educational institutions.
